Turks and Caicos Islands compete in the 2021 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Qualifying Tournament

Our footballers have been busy this year! After Team TCI U14 Girls claimed silver in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Under-14 Girls Challenge Series Tier II final against Aruba, the Under-17 girls are now taking their chances at a win.

The 2021 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Qualifying (CWU17) tournament, in Bradenton, FL, USA hosts three groups of teams, where the winners of each group will advance to the 2022 Concacaf Women’s U-17 Championship (CWU17).

The groups are as follows:

Group A: Saint Kitts and Nevis, US Virgin Islands and Suriname
Group B: Barbados, Curaçao and Belize
Group C: Honduras, Anguilla, Guyana and Turks and Caicos Islands

So far the Turks and Caicos Islands have competed in one game against Anguilla on October 30, the game resulting in a draw. Hence, today Turks and Caicos has taken on Team Guyana, vying for the top spot.

Unfortunately Team Guyana have conquered, with a 6-0 score against Team TCI, but not without a fight from our girls.
