For All the Dogs generated a vast amount of criticism, but one thing no one is complaining about is his undying love for the Turks and Caicos in his lyrics. As an avid customer of the infamous floating bar Noah’s Ark, he shouted out the popular spot on ‘All the Parties‘ with the lyric “Me and KD ’bout to turn up the Ark”. Drake made mention of the Turks and Caicos Islands in three other songs on the album ‘Amen‘, ‘Another Late Night‘ and ‘Rich Baby Daddy‘.
Local content creator ‘Turks and Treco‘ pitched the idea to the Ark team of paying homage to Drake, in artwork. Collaborating with local artist Nikki’s Trinkets, a poster was made mimicking the infantile design of the album art, illustrated by Drake’s son Adonis. Nikki’s Trinkets is also behind the original infamous Noah’s Ark sign, which incorporates shells and sand from TCI’s beaches.
The two creators felt it was essential for Turks and Caicos Islanders to come together and create something special. Take a trip to Noah’s Ark, grab a snap with the poster and tag Drake for the bar to keep going viral!
The poster will be displayed for the month of October as a tribute to Drake’s birthday and October’s Very Own (OVO) brand. Drake also released a Turks and Caicos collection via his Nike collab brand called Nocta.
