In the spirit of giving, the Provo Roadrunners has wrapped up its calendar year with heartful donations to a few worthy causes. On October 16th, 2021 the Roadrunners hosted a walk in honour of those that have fallen in the fight against cancer and those still fighting. The event was open to the public and participants made monetary contributions to the running group. A plethora of vibrant colors were worn on the day which visibly represented the various types of cancer affecting people worldwide. Proceeds from the event, which amounted to $1,000, were donated to the TCI National Cancer Society to close out National Cancer Awareness month which takes place in October each year.
This event was the most attended for the organisation this year and the president, Mrs Karen Deveaux, has expressed that the society intends to continue this into the new year.
This wasn’t the only act of kindness that the Provo Roadrunners have displayed recently, though. On December 18th a pajama run was held, this time part-proceeds are being donated to the Provo Children’s Home.
The president sees more of this kind of giving back in the organisation’s future.
